Goodwell, OK - The Oklahoma Panhandle State women’s
basketball team fought hard in San Antonio on Saturday night
but lost to St. Mary’s, 77-62. With the loss, the Lady
Aggies fell to 6-4 in the Heartland Conference and 13-12 overall.
St. Mary’s hot shooting gave them
a 45-30 lead at halftime. The Lady Aggies tried to stay in
it but just could not quite get the job done.
Bridgett Boykin’s 13 points was
high for OPSU, and Nina Kuleff chipped in 11 points, six
rebounds and five steals.
Lady Aggie head coach Jerry Olson said
his team had problems with their perimeter game and did not
have enough patience. Win or lose, Olson is always a class
act, and he took responsibility for the loss. The veteran
coach added, “We’ll be
back in our gym on Monday, and we’ll go back to work.”
The next action for the Lady Aggies will
be on their home court on Wednesday against St. Edward’s
with tip-off set for 6:00 p.m.
