Goodwell, OK – This fall, the Oklahoma Panhandle State women’s basketball team will be preparing for a serious run at the Heartland Conference title. With an experienced group of returning players, as well as some extremely promising recruits, the Lady Aggies, coached by Jerry Olson, should be a very exciting group.
Olson and his assistant, Brad Vanden Boogaard, have been hitting the recruiting trail extremely hard and several outstanding young women have committed to becoming a part of this up-and-coming program.
The latest commitment comes from Sarah Fergeson, a much honored player out of Sudan, Texas. Fergeson’s high school resume is an impressive one, having been a three time District Most Valuable Player, a three time All-Region performer, and a first team All-State selection in each of the last two seasons.
A 5’7 point guard, Fergeson’s per game averages were 11.4 points, 4.3 assists, and 5.6 rebounds.
At Sudan, Fergeson was a stellar performer and captain on her high school team, and Sudan was winner of their district in each of her four years on the squad. According to her high school coach Clay Stout, “Sarah is a great floor general. She sees the floor, knows how to win, and knows how to play.”
Olson, continuing to load the Lady Aggie program with top performers for the coming season, as well as the future, added, “We are really excited to have Sarah join our program. She is an extremely smart point guard who has the knack for knowing how to win.”
