OPSU guard Sarah Polson had the hot hand on Monday with a 26-point, 14-rebound performance in her team’s 84-66 win over Brigham Young University-Hawaii. The Lady Aggies were playing in a tournament in Honolulu.

Lady Aggies Dump BYU-Hawaii, 84-66

Goodwell, Okla. - Powered by Sarah Polson’s 26 points and 14 rebounds, the Oklahoma Panhandle State women’s basketball team hammered Brigham Young University-Hawaii, 84-66 on Monday. The Lady Aggies were participating in the first round of the Hoop ‘N Surf Classic in Honolulu.
Though the Lady Aggies were behind 6-0 in the early going, they quickly took control and held a 45-22 lead at the halftime break.
Polson’s totals in points and rebounds were career highs and she hit on five of her ten three-point attempts and made nine of ten from the free throw line. Her 14 rebounds was the high so far this season for a Heartland Conference player.
Alisha Sladek scored 13 points for OPSU and Ro Wilson netted 11. The Lady Aggies hardworking senior guard, Connie Maas, dished out five assists. Ceara Brown and Jasmine Williams each came up with a pair of steals for OPSU.
On the night, the Lady Aggies hit 49% of their shots from the field and dropped in 20 of 24 tries from the foul line. Eleven different OPSU players scored points.
OPSU is now 5-4 on the year and their 84 point scoring output was the highest of the season.
