Missouri Southern Tops Lady Aggies 82-55

Goodwell, OK - Missouri
Southern downed Oklahoma Panhandle State 82-55 in women’s
basketball action here on Sunday afternoon. The Lions shot
over 61% from the field in the first half and opened up a 47-26
margin over the Lady Aggies at the halftime break.
The Lady Aggies never got any closer
than 16 points in the second half. After the game, OPSU coach
Jerry Olson said, “They
wanted to win more than we did, and we are going to have to
start playing tougher.” The loss dropped the Lady Aggie
season record to 6-5.
Missouri Southern’s Liz Burks, an excellent 5’11” junior,
came off the bench and led all scorers with 18 points. The
Lions upped their season record to 7-3.
Brandi Lewis led OPSU with 14 points and Diana Garduno added
13. Nina Kuleff added ten points and freshman Sarah Furgeson
had a game high six assists.
The members of the Lady Aggie team will get the opportunity
to get a few days off for Christmas, then return to prepare
for their December 30th home game with New Mexico Highlands.
