Emporia State Wins Over Lady Aggies in Hawaii

Goodwell, Okla. - The Oklahoma Panhandle State women’s basketball team lost an 80-59 contest to Emporia State on Tuesday in the second round of the Hoop ‘N Surf Classic in Honolulu. Emporia entered the game as the number 14 ranked team in NCAA Division II.
Emporia led 39-29 at the end of the first half.
Jasmine Williams’ 14 points paced OPSU while Cherrelle Tillis netted nine. Alisha Sladek and Ro Wilson each scored seven points.
Tillis and Connie Maas shared Lady Aggie rebounding honors with five each and Maas added three assists and four steals.
With the victory Emporia raised their season record to 7-2, while OPSU evened theirs at 5-5.
The Lady Aggies will get a short holiday rest before their next action, set for December 29 against the University of Central Oklahoma in Edmond.
