OPSU’s Siale Has What It Takes
by Aggie Sports on 06/15/05
Goodwell, OK – Oklahoma Panhandle State defensive tackle Sione Siale stands a shade over six feet tall, weighs 275 pounds, and has buried many an opposing ball carrier who has challenged the Aggie line.
However, off the field, the soft spoken junior-to-be can usually be found with his head buried in a textbook.
Recently, the President’s Honor Roll at OPSU was released, and among the qualifications for that honor is a 4.0 grade average (straight As). A Pre-Medicine student, Siale has appeared on the honor roll in each semester he has been a student at the University.
Oklahoma Panhandle State’s football team competes as part of the Independent Football Alliance and Siale has been honored as a member of the IFA’s All-Academic Team. He was the only student athlete on that honor team with a 4.0 grade average.
On the football field, the Euless, Texas native is a rock in the middle of the Aggie “D” line, and should make a great contribution to the 2005 season.
Whether it be on the gridiron, or in academics, or even in the field of medicine . . . continue to look for big things from Sione Siale. He is a wonderful example of what student athletes can offer.
