Aggie Football Recruits Named to All-Star Squads

Guymon, Okla. -- With the opening of fall training camp less than two months away, some of the Aggie recruiting class of 2007 are getting football started early after having been selected to play various all star games throughout the region. Twenty nine Aggie signees have or will played in all star games this summer.

The most notable are the Oklahoma Coaches Association All State Game to be played in Edmond where Aggie signees Gus Overstreet from Pioneer High School and Josh Day from Morrison will display their skills. Eric Lucero of Moriarty, New Mexico, will play in the New Mexico High School Athletic Coaches Association 4A/5A North South All Star Game while Jeff Alder from Wickenburg, Arizona, will participate in the Arizona Coaches Association All Star Game, as well.

Other Aggie signees who have or will participate in all star games are as follows:

Oklahoma 8-Man All Star Game in Miami, OK: Michael McLain (Buffalo, OK), Coy McSperit (Geary, OK) and Josh Harrison (Tyrone, OK).

Texas 6-Man All Star Game in Lubbock, TX: Brently Roberson (Lefors, TX).

Kansas 8-Man All Star Game in Beloit, KS: Tanner Yost (Minneola, KS).

K101 Bowl in Woodward, Oklahoma: Paul Alvarado (Okeene, OK), Ryan Compton (Watonga, OK), Pecos Musil (Crescent, OK), Lane Cappellucci (Hooker, OK), Steven McAlpine (Wheeler, TX), and Seth Reed (Clinton, OK).

Greenbelt Bowl in Childress, Texas: Jeremy Ashby (Fritch, TX), Chris Manross (Perryton, TX), James “Chucky”Rivera (Wheeler, TX), and Estevan Olivarez (Sunray, TX).

Lake Eufaula All-Star Classic in Eufaula, OK: Michael Simpson (McAlester, OK).

West Texas All-Star Game in Lubbock, TX: Gilbert Pedrazza (Amarillo, TX).

Southwest Oklahoma Senior Bowl in Lawton, OK: Kelby Fowler (Altus, OK), Kyle Morales (Lawton, OK), and George Thompson (Cache, OK).

Pawnee Bill All-Star Classic in Pawnee, OK: Pat Karnish (Chisholm, OK).

Gridiron Classic in Long Beach, CA: Roderick Smith (Bellflower, CA).

Hillsborough County East/West All-Star Game in Tampa, FL: Tito Zumbado(Tampa, FL)

British Columbia Provincial All-Star Football Game in Vancouver, BC: Cole Buchamer (Surrey, BC) and Kurtis Pedersen (Surrey, BC).
