Last Year's Top Three Receivers Return for OPSU
by Aggie Sports on 07/19/05
Goodwell, OK - The 2004 Oklahoma Panhandle State football offensive attack was run based, but when they did go to the air, they were quite effective. The top three receivers accounted for nearly 800 yards, and they will all be back for the 2005 season -James Stephens, Shane Black and Steve Jackson.
All three will be seniors, and Stephens (6'1, 205 pounds) was a first team All-Independent Football Alliance (IFA) selection last season. The Lawton, Oklahoma native scored five times and had an impressive 25.3 yards per catch average.
Black, of Plains, Kansas, is a very sure handed receiver who hauled in 20 passes for 257 yards in 2004. The 6'0 and 200-pound Black was a second team All-IFA choice last year.
Jackson (5'11, 190 pounds from Olathe, Kansas) is a tremendous athlete who may see action at several different positions. He scored twice last season while snagging ten passes for 175 yards.
Stephens, Black and Jackson . . . an excellent trio on the football field. |
