Goodwell, OK — On Saturday, the Oklahoma Panhandle State football team traveled to Kansas and played rugged Pittsburg State, ranked as high as #3 in the national NCAA Division II polls. The Gorillas jumped out to a 14-0 first quarter lead, and never looked back in their 87-0 win.

Ten different players scored points for Pittsburg State, led by pre-season All-American Germaine Rice, who had three touchdowns to go with his 110 yards rushing in 15 carries.
OPSU quarterback Craig Maynard completed four of his seven passes for 29 yards and Aggie fullback Steven Boone gained 21 yards in 11 carries.

Steven Jackson caught a 15 yard pass for the Aggies and teammate Chad Sauceda made a grab good for 13 yards.

On the defensive side of the ball for OPSU, a trio of seniors led in tackles. Leon Paul was credited with nine stops, Ranoaldo Davis had eight, and Andre Gumbs chalked up seven.
