OPSU’s Davis Means Business
On AND Off the Field
- by Scott Puryear of Aggie Sports on 10/0705
Goodwell, OK - At a solid six feet tall
and 250 pounds, Oklahoma Panhandle State linebacker Ranoaldo
Davis has been a serious force to contend with over the
last two seasons. One tough cookie on the football field,
he was an All-Independent Football Alliance selection
last season, and is headed that way again this year.
The junior from Kansas City, Kansas means business on
the field, and one can check that out with any of the several
running backs he has escorted to the turf in his career.
Off the field, and especially in the classroom, Davis
also means business. As a Business Major with a B average,
he is respected by his fellow students as well as his
instructors. One of his teachers, Sara Hitch, said, “Ranoaldo
works hard in his classes, and spends the time and the
effort to perform well.”
In his Aggie football gear, Davis always has his head
in the game and has come up with some very big plays in
the last two years, but perhaps more important, he shows
those around him true leadership skills. His position coach,
Philip Lovato, said, “Ranoaldo is an individual who
leads by example. He steps up, does the job, and is prepared
both physically and mentally.”
On top of everything, Davis is a genuinely nice young
man. He is polite, respectful, soft spoken, and has a gentle
demeanor . . . that is, unless you happen to be running
at him carrying a football.
The Aggie fans not making the trip to Kansas for this
Saturday’s game with Pittsburg State can catch up
with Davis and the rest of the Aggies live from KGYN via
internet broadcast. Log on to www.opsu.edu and click on
athletics to find the link. Fans may also listen to the
game on PTCI’s DITV channel 150. Game time is 2:00
pm.
