Dean Preparing for Another Great Year at OPSU
by Aggie Sports on 07/21/05

Goodwell, OK – Oklahoma Panhandle State linebacker Clifford Dean is one of the better athletes ever to wear an Aggie uniform. He combines strength, speed, and football savvy. The Most Valuable Defensive Player in the Independent Football Alliance last season, he is the prototype sideline-to-sideline player.

As a freshman, Dean spent a good part of the season as a running back, and he has returned many punts and kick-offs during his outstanding OPSU career, and thanks to a strong set of legs, has been called upon to kick off on several occasions.

After playing on both sides of the ball his freshman year, Dean settled into a starting linebacker spot to begin his sophomore season. In just two defensive campaigns, he has been in on 185 tackles (18 of them for losses).

5’10” and 210 pounds of cat quickness, Clifford seems to always be around the ball and he enters the 2005 season with talent, determination, and the willingness to do what it takes to get the job done.

Aggie head coach Kyle Davis is excited about having a player like Dean around, and says the senior-to-be from Newton, Texas is a bona fide candidate for All-America honors.
