- by Scott Puryear of OPSU Sports on 12/02/07
Goodwell, Okla. - Oklahoma Panhandle State linebacker Matt Warner has picked up several post season honors for his outstanding performance this fall. The 6’1, 230-pound junior from Herrin, Illinois was the anchor on the Aggie defense all season.
Warner has been named to the all-league team of the Central States Football League and has also been honored as a first team performer on the national NCAA Division II All-Independent Team, as published by d2Football.com.
Last week, Warner was named second team on the prestigious Daktronics All-Southwest Region team.
For the season, Warner ranked second in the DII national rankings in both total tackles and solo tackles.
There is some bad news about Matt Warner . . . and that is for teams on the 2008 OPSU schedule BECAUSE WARNER WILL BE BACK ON THE FIELD FOR THE AGGIES AGAIN NEXT FALL.
