40,000 Miles in a Year for OPSU Sports

Goodwell, Okla. -- How much do Cory and Shelia Heiniger enjoy watching OPSU sports? Try 40,000 miles worth in the last year.
The Heinigers of Sabetha, Kansas are not only big fans of the Aggie and Lady Aggie teams, they also enjoy watching their daughter (Connie Maas) and their son-in-law (Adam Maas) compete. Adam played for the OPSU men’s basketball team and Connie plays both basketball and softball for the Lady Aggies. In fact, on Friday March 7, Connie was in Denton, Texas competing for the Lady Aggies in the Heartland Conference Basketball Tournament and just four days later, she was playing softball for OPSU in Goodwell.
Both Connie and Adam are excellent overall student athletes and they will be graduating from OPSU this year. Each has also been recognized as Student Athletes of the Week at OPSU, an honor based upon citizenship, scholarship, and athletic performance.
Connie is a Biology major and Adam is completing his degree in Health, Physical Education and Recreation.
In addition, Connie has been honored as an All-American Scholar-Athlete by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA).
This season, the Heinigers did not miss a single Lady Aggie basketball game, either home or away (including the OPSU games in Hawaii last December), and they have made it to nearly all of the home and away softball games. Cory estimates that he and his wife have traveled over 40,000 miles in the last year watching Connie and Adam play for the OPSU teams.
Great friends and great fans of OPSU Sports – Cory and Shelia Heiniger.
