Goodwell, Okla. - Among the most prestigious awards at Oklahoma Panhandle State University are the school’s Male and Female Student Athletes of the Year. This year’s recipients are Trell Etbauer and Valerie Armstrong.
The annual awards are based upon a combination of leadership, citizenship, academic excellence and athletic performance. It is an honor just to be nominated for the award, and Armstrong and Etbauer represent the best of the best student athletes at OPSU.
Armstrong, a senior majoring in Ag Business, excelled on the Lady Aggie volleyball team. The native of Brule, Nebraska has been one of the hardest working student athletes on the OPSU campus as well as one of the nicest. She provided senior leadership for her team with her solid work ethic and she is an exceptionally bright and hardworking student.
Etbauer, a junior from Goodwell, has established himself as one of the top college rodeo competitors in the entire country. The Industrial Technology major is also an outstanding student and fine citizen. With exceptional athletic ability, the determined Etbauer leads by example. He will be a key to the OPSU rodeo team’s quest to win another national collegiate championship this summer.
