OPSU’s Washburns - Hard Work is What It Takes
- by OPSU Sports on 11/12/07
Goodwell, Okla. - In order to have athletic events at any college, there are a great many people behind the scenes who work hard to assist the teams, and many of them are student workers. Jessica and Jennifer Washburn are very productive employees in the OPSU Sports Information Department and they also perform well in the classroom.
Known as two of the friendliest people on campus, the twins have been seen at OPSU home athletic events this fall doing any number of tasks. According to Sports Information Director Scott Puryear, “In my six years as SID, Jennifer and Jessica are among the best student workers we’ve had. They are dependable and willing to roll up their sleeves and help out with any administrative task that is sent their way. They always seem to do it with a smile, too.”
The Washburn sisters are juniors and their family resides in Keyes, Oklahoma. Jennifer is majoring in Elementary Education and Jessica is Biology major.
You might see them assisting with statistics at the scorer’s table during volleyball matches and basketball games, running in and out of the press box at football games, or spending a great deal of time in front of a copy machine. No matter the task they are assigned – in their jobs or in the classroom - Jennifer and Jessica Washburn work hard to GET THE JOB DONE.
