There will be some wild rides at the Doc Gardner Rodeo

Goodwell, Okla. — Each April, some of finest rodeo talent in the entire country heads to Guymon for the annual Doc Gardner Rodeo, hosted by Oklahoma Panhandle State University.
Members of the OPSU men’s and women’s teams (coached by Craig Latham) will be a big part of this year’s event, which begins on Wednesday, April 4 at the Henry C. Hitch Arena. The Aggie men’s team has been the national collegiate champion four times since 1997, and under Latham’s guidance, they are quite prepared to make a run at another title.
The great rodeo competition at the Doc Gardner Rodeo provides the finest in family entertainment and the events will take place over four days (all at the Hitch arena in Guymon). Performances are set for:
Wednesday, April 4 at 2:00 p.m.
Thursday, April 5 at 7:00 p.m.
Friday, April 6 at 7:00 p.m.
Saturday, April 7 at 1:00 p.m.
Saturday, April 7 at 7:00 p.m.
In order to give fans a break on ticket prices this year, the Rodeo Committee of Guymon’s Pioneer Days professional rodeo and the Doc Gardner Rodeo have teamed up to offer special ticket prices for one performance of both rodeos. This year, enthusiasts can purchase a ticket that gains them entrance to one performance of the Doc Gardner and one performance of the pro rodeo for only $12, a $13 savings over prices at the gate. Ticket outlets include all PTCI locations; 54 Gas ‘n Go in Goodwell; First National Bank in Texhoma, Goodwell, and Guymon; Tri-County Electric in Hooker; Crazy House in Liberal, Kans.; Epic Touch in Guymon, Liberal, and Elkhart, Kans., and Southern Office Supply in Liberal. In addition, these Guymon businesses have advance tickets including Perkins Petroleum; Traders Pawn; PDQ Store; Kitchen Mart; Homeland; Standard Supply; the Guymon Chamber of Commerce; and United Supermarket.
