OPSU Softball Drops First Two Games

Goodwell, OK - Having fought through the winter weather for several weeks that impacted their practice time, the Oklahoma Panhandle State softball team traveled to Portales, New Mexico on Wednesday to face Eastern New Mexico State. ENM had had the opportunity for a great deal more practice time plus had four wins in six tries under their belt. The experience factor was the key and ENM picked up 11-0 and 9-7 victories.

Eastern New Mexico put out a strong offensive performance in the first game of Wednesday’s doubleheader against OPSU with three home runs and 11 RBI’s in five innings.

OPSU’s Cathy Daza had two hits, including a double.

In game two, the OPSU bats came alive quickly. ENM prevailed but the Lady Aggies served noticed that they were ready to give their all.

Krystal Comeaux, Teena Joos, and Stacey Harbour all had doubles for OPSU and the Lady Aggies swiped four bases.

Cathy Daza, Comeaux, Denise Degenhardt and Roxanna Palacios each had two hits, and Daza and Jan Sherry each drove in a pair of runs.
