OPSU Hoverboard Policy

Issue Date: January 14, 2016
Issued By: Jessica Lofland, Dean of Students

Oklahoma Panhandle State University’s priority is the safety of our students and facilities. Due to the recent fire concerns surrounding hoverboards (also known as self-balancing scooters), OPSU Housing is prohibiting the use and possession of all hoverboards in campus housing. This applies to all residence halls and campus apartments and houses, including Married Student Housing and Faculty Housing. If you have not yet returned to campus and have a hoverboard, please leave it at home and do not bring it to campus. Residents who currently have them should make arrangements to remove them immediately and not bring them back to campus. Residents (including guests and dependents of residents) found in possession of a hoverboard in or around their living space, may face disciplinary action from the Office of Student Affairs.

If you have questions regarding this policy, please contact OPSU Housing and Student Affairs at 580.349.1360 or housing@opsu.edu.
