Job Summary:
Specialized educational responsibilities including all pre-service placements as well as student teaching placements and the record keeping required. Responsibilities include placement of all teacher candidates in both pre-service and student teaching assignments. Serve on Teacher Education Council.
Responsibilities:
• Develop and oversee the development of appropriate field sites for all field students in a program associated with the Education department.
• Coordinate student placement application process.
• Place all eligible undergraduate Practicum students in appropriate field agencies.
• Meet or email all classes that require observation hours.
• Help students complete a Field Experience Request form.
• Help students complete a background check.
• Place all students for all classes that require observation hours in public schools.
• Help students complete their Field Experience Record.
• Correspond with principals and superintendents to find qualified teachers for students to observe.
• Communicate placements to students, supervising teachers, and instructors.
• Create and email affidavits to all supervising teachers.
• Collect all forms, Field Experience Request, Background Checks, Field Experience Record, and Affidavit of Supervision.
• Record all forms in database.
• Create files and file all paperwork for all students that have a class that requires observation hours such as TEP applicants and Interns.
• Communicate with superintendents and principals regarding best place for Interns.
• Create and email forms to cooperating teachers such as Cooperating Teacher Commitment form and W-9.
• Attends seminars to explain forms and to collect and file.
• Maintains files
• Creates all evaluations for 2nd and 3rd Portfolio Reviews in Foliotek.
• Gather availability of committee members for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Portfolio Reviews.
• Organize 1st, 2nd and 3rd Portfolio Reviews and streamline the students during the reviews into the boardroom.
• Take deposits to cashier.
• Sets up students and instructors with accounts in Foliotek.
• Sends out evaluation link to all cooperating teachers for Mid-Term Evaluation and Final Evaluation.
• Sets up Rosetta Stone accounts for interns.
• Helps and advise students regarding Foliotek and Rosetta Stone.
• Set up Foliotek for instructors.
• Provide Foliotek assistance at 2nd Portfolio Review.
• Update field experience forms as needed.
• Provide data for all reports.
• Support graduate coordinators with the placements of all eligible graduate students in appropriate field agencies.
• Work with departmental Curriculum Committee in developing and maintaining department Field Manuals and field placement forms.
• Monitor undergraduate field placements.
• Communicate with faculty and Department Chair regarding field program and field issues.
• Collect forms from those seeking alternative certification.
• Order supplies as needed.
• Create purchase orders.
• Pay invoices.
• Handle travel arrangements for meetings.
• Hires and handles student workers.
• Helps building supervisor by maintaining keys and turns in help tickets.
• Maintains the classrooms and orders necessary repairs/items.
• Maintains inventory and inventory audit.
• Initiates New Vendor request and enters into OK Corral.
• Creates invoices and purchase orders to pay Cooperating Teachers.
• Organizes lunch and dinner for Mid-Term Cooperating Teachers and Cooperating Teacher/Intern Dinner.
• Maintains copier and toners.
• Must have a strong work ethic and lead by example.
• Must be a professional, credible and respected representative of the institution internally and in the community
• Demonstrated willingness and ability to act ethically and socially responsible
• Must be able to lift more than 50-lb. objects; frequent bending, stooping, and walking
• Can be exposed to a variety of weather conditions for periods of time.
• Ability to communicate in a courteous manner
• Other duties as assigned by Director of Teacher Education or designee.

Qualifications:
EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
• Required: Bachelor’s degree
• Preferred: Master’s Degree
• Strong communication skills, standard office procedures, and computer proficiency required
• Certification and experience in public schools preferred
• Previous field placement coordination experience, strong skills in mediation and collaboration, knowledge of area agencies, and experience in program development and management.
