The Vice President for Academic and Student Affairs, (VPASA) serves as Chief Academic Officer, responsible for the planning, development, supervision and evaluation of all instructional areas. The VPASA reports to the President during the 12-month contract.

The (VPASA) provides academic and student service leadership for the University, faculty, staff and students; establishes and maintains a culture of high academic standards, intellectual inquiry, quality student learning experiences, and student success; administers University policies and procedures and manages human, physical, and fiscal resources as they support instructional programs; provides guidance and oversight for all work and programs pertaining to educational partnerships; provides administration and leadership for the areas of Student Life, Residential Life, Faculty Housing, and Student Conduct.

The position responsibilities will include program development that fosters student engagement, leadership opportunities, and success; student development outcomes and program assessment; ensuring compliance with state, federal and other reporting regulations; hiring, training, and staff development and evaluation; budget development and management; and committed to maintaining academic rigor, standards, and honesty to further promote the reputation of the University. Qualifications: The position requires a doctorate in a relevant academic field, and successful administrative or educational leadership experience in higher education, including training in curriculum design, instructional delivery, accreditation and the elements of effective teaching and learning. Minimum of 3 years of successful education administration and leadership built on a solid record of teaching or related instructional experience. Excellent organization and coordination abilities, including the ability to plan, organize and supervise a variety of activities and events; excellent written/oral communication and critical thinking skills; understanding of, sensitivity to, and respect for the diverse academic socio-economic, ethnic, cultural, and disability backgrounds of University students; adheres to principles of trust, teamwork and collaboration; and possesses strong management and interpersonal skills.
