Responsibilities: The Vice President of Outreach (VPO) is responsible for operational management and supervision of a unit that includes alumni relations, development, special events, marketing, career management, continuing and community education. This position will collaborate with the President and the Executive Team to define and execute advancement, marketing, and enrollment management strategies. The position is responsible for providing leadership to secure public and private support to help achieve the University’s mission. The VPO reports directly to the President during the 12-month contract. The VPO will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive fundraising program; providing oversight and leadership for the development and implementation of a comprehensive marketing plan and grant plan; building, maintaining, and strengthening a positive relationship with internal and external individuals and groups to the University; providing leadership to increase the University’s visibility on a local, regional, and national level through productive relationships with regional and national partners; serving as the University’s legislative liaison; filing required ethics reports; planning and implementing special events; and performing other related responsibilities as required or assigned by the President of the University.

Qualifications: A Master’s degree from an accredited University in a related field is required; an earned Doctorate degree from an accredited University is preferred. Five years of experience in Higher Education marketing, fundraising, and/or donor and corporate relations and supervisory experience are required. Must show a demonstrated ability to bring together diverse individuals in the community and University to form and motivate teams to achieve goals; must be able to effectively facilitate meetings to encourage the sharing of ideas, reaching a consensus and taking action; have the ability to articulate complex plans, programs and activities in a clear and credible fashion; exhibit exceptional written and oral communication and advocacy skills; demonstrate strong technical, analytical, and system skills; demonstrate a strong work ethic and lead by example; must be a professional, credible and respected representative of the institution internally and in the community; demonstrate willingness and ability to act ethically and socially responsible
