Fall Homecoming

At the heart of Panhandle State heritage is fall homecoming. The local communities, Panhandle State alumni, current students, faculty and staff, in addition to prospective students join in celebrating the #WeArePanhandle family. Homecoming events vary but traditionally the homecoming parade float competitions, Panhandle Royalty, and door decorating competitions are annual events.

2019 Homecoming Schedule - Saturday, Oct. 12

  • 9:00 A.M.
    Alumni Registration – Student Union Ballroom
  • 10:00 A.M.
    Honored Family Reception – University House
  • 10:30 A.M.
    Parade line-up begins - Noble Center Parking Lot
  • 11:00 A.M.
    Parade begins 11:00 A.M. Tailgating across from Anchor D Stadium
  • 11:45 A.M.
    Honored Family Tree and Marker Dedication – Tailgate Area
  • 12:00 P.M.
    Alumni BBQ begins (After Parade)
  • 1:30 P.M.
    Introduction of the Honored Family – Anchor D Stadium
  • 2:00 P.M.
    Homecoming football game vs. Texas Wesleyan
  • Halftime
    Homecoming Royalty Coronation, Sponsor Recognition, National Champion Recognitions, Mass Band
  • Postgame
    Concert following the game - Tailgate Area

Parade Float Entry Forms & Rules

Every year the Panhandle’s communities and merchants, in addition to Panhandle State’s alumni, academic departments and student clubs create homecoming theme based floats that are featured in the Homecoming Parade. If you are interested in participating with a float please be sure to complete an entry form, download and read the float rules and the float organization. Floats are categorized for the parade by: campus clubs and organizations, alumni, off-campus commercial business, and off-campus non-profit organization.

Aggie Spirit Challenge

Prizes will only be awarded on an overall participation scorecard.

  • 1st - $500

  • 2nd - $300

  • 3rd - $150

Points will be based on:

  • Attendance – 5pts per event (Based on % of club present)

    Club members will scan QR code to prove they attended event.

  • Participation – 1pt per club member (maximum 5 pts)

  • 3rd place – 3pts

  • 2nd place – 4pts

  • 1st place – 5pts

  • Every evening event is eligible to earn points.

  • Some categories may not apply to event.

  • Door Competition

    Decorate a door on campus to match the theme: Carnival.

    Doors need to be done by noon, Monday, October 7th.
