Professional Development Program

All classes held in the Guymon Classroom at Fifth and Roosevelt

This new and exciting program offered through OPSU's Department of Continuing Education focuses on various aspects of leadership and guidance in a business/organization. Whether currently in management or aspiring for a position in management, these basic courses will provide you with the fundamental skills necessary to effectively execute successful leadership. Additionally, this program accommodates the business professional's busy work schedule by meeting on weekend mornings.

Robert's Rules of Order

Clubs, organizations, boards, and associations in public and private arenas follow parliamentary procedure. Learn to run a meeting efficiently and effectively with Robert's Rules of Order. This brief "survival" course teaches you how to make motions, take minutes, prepare agendas and gives the basic of protocol and prodedure such as point of order, parliamentary inquiry, debate decorum and much more.


Leadership Enhancement

Strong leadership is essential to business and community success. Look within to find untapped energy and interest. This course addresses effective leadership styles and behaviors, power and influence, change and ethics, problem solving and time management. Leaders in a community build networks and relationships amog citizens and organizations that are critical to making things happen in a constructive manner.


Effective Business Communication

Effective business communication creates the setting for selling a product or service. It is vital to convey the right image from the start to a client. Learn to adress conflict management, refresh interpersonal skills, deal with various types of verbal and written correspondence and master the art of listening.


Customer Relations Training

Turn prospects into new customers and new customers into repeat customers. Improve morale in the workplace, increase efficiency and timeliness to the customer, and reduce customer frustrations. Expectations affect the structure, autonomy, balance and overall happiness of the employees who deal directly with an organizations customer base.
