The center provides assistance
in a variety of areas. Finding a major that prepares students
for their career choice is essential. Academic major exploration
focuses on an individual's interests, abilities, experiences,
and values in order to develop an effective career
plan . Career and major exploration is available through
the use of the computerized guidance system Discover. This easy
to use system helps students make education and career choices.
There are other online career tests available.
The job
search aspect provides students with assistance with resume
building, writing cover letters, interviewing and other job search
skills. The online Aggie Job Board allows students to post
their resume and search jobs. It allows employers to post their
job openings and search student resumes. In
the spring of each year, a career
fair is held for Business, Industry and Agriculture and
one for Education. Businesses and school districts send
representatives to the fairs to promote themselves and to recruit
potential employees.
Throughout the year, special arrangements are made for businesses to conduct on-campus interviews with students looking for jobs after graduation. The center also provides a credential file service for graduates and those approaching graduation.
Resources for internship and graduate school searches are also available.
