DESCRIPTIVE INFORMATION:

     Langston University, located in Langston, Oklahoma, is a coeducational, state-controlled, historically black, four-year liberal arts and sciences institution. As a land grant institution, the mission of the university is twofold: that of instructing in the art of teaching various branches which pertain to a common school education, and an urban emphasis with higher education centers, in Tulsa and Oklahoma City. Recognizing responsibility for its dual, integrative mission, Langston emphasizes high levels of excellence in instruction, research, and community service in both rural and urban environments.
