DESCRIPTIVE INFORMATION:

The professional Education Unit, for which the College of Education is the primary administrative and academic body, offers a wide range of undergraduate and graduate programs to prepare individuals for careers in teaching, administration, school services, and research in the field of education either in the common schools or in institutions of higher education. There are programs that also prepare individuals for careers in human resource development in business, industry, and agency settings. Undergraduate and graduate professional education programs are offered primarily in the College of Education, as well as the colleges Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources, Arts and Sciences, and Human Environmental Sciences. Students seeking recommendation for licensure/certification must meet both the requirements of the OSU Professional Education Unit and the degree requirements of the college responsible for the program the student is pursuing.

THEME OR SUMMATIVE PHRASE FOR CONCEPTUAL FRAMEWORK:

Oklahoma State University’s Professional Education Unit seeks to prepare individuals who believe everyone deserves the opportunity to learn; who act on the principle that diversity is to be valued; who work to integrate personal experience with fields of knowledge, with teaching base on sound theory and with research-driven educational practice; and who are committed to the belief that professional educators providing Quality education are the backbone of society.
