DESCRIPTIVE INFORMATION:

     The USAO Teacher Education Program employs an integrated conceptual framework that infuses competencies in three areas: (1) liberal arts; (2) field of specialization; and (3) professional education incorporating research about effective teaching.  The unit envisions an effective teacher possessing a strong interdisciplinary knowledge in the liberal arts, specialized content area, and professional education.  This teacher is ethical, informed, reflective and positively influences student learning.
