Oklahoma Baptist University is a senior-level, coeducational, private institution, founded in 1910 and is owned and operated by the Baptist General Convention of Oklahoma. In keeping with the terms of its charter, Oklahoma Baptist University offers courses and programs leading to nine different bachelor’s degrees and one master’s degree in more than 75 programs of study.
Oklahoma Baptist University is an institution founded on Christian principles and teachings whose primary purpose is to conduct education programs in the traditional arts and sciences and in other disciplines with the intent to prepare students for effective leadership and service in the various vocations. The Oklahoma Baptist University teacher candidate, within a Christian context which emphasizes the worth of the individual, the life-long search for truth in an environment of free inquiry, and the ability of the human community to positive address societal needs and concerns, develops the intellectual, social, moral, and spiritual commitment that marks the professional teacher.
