Panhandle State Communications on 05/24/2021

Oklahoma Panhandle State University Shooting Sports Head Coach, Jordan Freeman, has announced her resignation. Freeman accepted the position as the first-ever Shooting Sports Head Coach in the Spring of 2020.

University President, Dr. Tim Faltyn stated, “Jordan has been influential in the Shooting Sports Team success over this past year. We look forward to continuing this success for our Shooting Sports Team in the new fall semester.”

Coach Freeman was an instrumental part in teaching the team techniques and getting them ready for competitions. Under her leadership, Panhandle State won a national title at the ACUI Collegiate Championship for Men’s American Trap.

Along with the success at the ACUI Championship, the Shooting Sports team hosted the first-ever home competition in November of 2020. The competition brought eight teams to Panhandle State and numerous community members helped support the event.

Provost, Dr. Julie Dinger commented, “With the leadership from Jordan Freeman, the Shooting Sports Team hit the ground running in their first year as a collegiate team at Panhandle State. I am excited to see the continued success of this team.”

OPSU will immediately begin a national search and will have a new Shooting Sports Head Coach in place in the near future.
