Academic scholarships are awarded on a competitive basis. Automatic application does not imply automatic award.
Panhandle Promise Scholarship
Academic Scholarships
Academic scholarships are available through the Deans of each college and the Financial Aid Office for first-time freshmen and transfer students. The scholarship application is built into the OPSU application for admission. You must have applied to OPSU to be eligible for an academic scholarship.
Activity & Athletic
A limited number of scholarships are offered for participation in in each sport, rodeo, various activities such as Band, Choir, Student Ambassadors, Cheerleading, Livestock Judging, Yearbook, Collegian Newspaper, Computer Programming Team, and Art. For more information, contact the appropriate coach or advisor.
The Panhandle State Foundation
The Foundation has over 250 additional scholarships available to incoming freshman, non-traditional, transfer, and current students.
Oklahoma State Regents & Other Scholarships
“Inspired to Teach” is a program to support the teacher pipeline and the preparation of public-school teachers for prekindergarten through 12th grade. As legislatively appropriated funding is available, the Program provides a scholarship to eligible students majoring in teacher education at an accredited teacher preparation program at an Oklahoma public or private university.
To qualify for this scholarship, students must have graduated from an Oklahoma High School, declare a major in an education field, be enrolled full-time (12 credit hours), maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress with a minimum of 2.5 GPA, agree to complete the Oklahoma teacher preparation program, and agree to teach in an Oklahoma public school for a minimum of five consecutive years.
Students can receive $1,000 per academic year for up to 3 years with less than 90 credit hours earned and $2,500 for the final academic year with more than 90 credit hours earned.

The Oklahoma Tuition Aid Grant Program (OTAG) is a need-based grant program for Oklahoma residents who attend eligible colleges, universities, and career technology centers in Oklahoma. Awards are approved for full-time or part-time undergraduate students.

Oklahoma's Promise offers qualified Oklahoma students an opportunity to earn a scholarship for college tuition.
Oklahoma residents apply for this scholarship in their 8th, 9th, 10th, or 11th grade. Students who have been awarded this scholarship should notify the Financial Aid office of their qualifications.
