Job Summary:

Under the direction of the Vice President, this position works under broad, administrative direction with responsibility for providing strategic leadership and direction in the planning, implementing, improving, and evaluating of departments responsible for and promoting operational improvements. Responds to inquiries from College departments, educational institutions, the community, and/or external agencies.


Strong leadership skills, excellent communication skills, organization and attention to detail, and ability to promote the broad mission of the university in all aspects of work. Must maintain confidentiality in areas where sensitive information is collected or shared. Experience with Banner and Office 365.

Preferred: Academic leadership experience at departmental and college levels.


• Provides primary leadership in guiding, planning, implementing, evaluating, and modifying administrative processes and operational procedures related to assigned department.
• Promotes the university mission, values, goals, and objectives across all departments.
• Serves as a liaison to applicable external agencies and industries, internal departments, and applicable educational institutions representing the College with respect to processes and procedures.
• Participates on various college committees, including a variety of leadership groups and teams.
• Provides leadership in problem-solving and promoting systems improvement across areas of responsibility.
• Develops and monitors budgets for areas of responsibility and allocates resources following budget approval; approves expenditures.
• Advises and responds to questions from departments and external agencies regarding complex issues or policies impacting assigned programs and services. Investigates, addresses and resolves problems, grievances, and complaints related to areas of responsibility.
• Good communication skills a must.
• Must have a strong work ethic and lead by example.
• Must be a professional, credible and respected representative of the institution internally and in the community.
• Demonstrated willingness and ability to act ethically and socially responsible manner.
• Must be able to lift more than 50-lb. objects; frequent bending, stooping, and walking.
• Ability to work various hours, including nights and weekends throughout the year.
• Can be exposed to a variety of weather conditions for periods of time.
• Ability to communicate in a courteous manner
• Other duties as assigned by the Provost or designee.
